Bio

Rick Landers enters his third season as an assistant men's basketball coach for the Gophers. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Landers has 27 years of high school coaching experience, with time spent in the highly competitive Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and the historical Baltimore Catholic League (BCL).  His primary responsibilities will be assisting with practices, post player development, and game strategy.

Landers comes to Goucher after spending the past 12 years as the Associate Head Coach of the John Carroll School in Bel Air, Maryland (2004- 2015).  At John Carroll he assisted with all facets of the program and during his tenure achieved two MIAA championships and a BCL tournament championship.

Before John Carroll he spent one season as an assistant Varsity Coach at Fallston High School in Fallston, Maryland (2004-2005). He also spent one season at Loyola-Blakefield High School in Towson, Maryland (2001-2002).

He spent 3 years at Archbishop Spalding High School in Glen Burnie, Maryland (1996-1999) and for the first 10 years of his coaching career Rick was an assistant varsity coach at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, MD (1983-1993).

Rick attended Towson Catholic High School and the University of Maryland Baltimore County.  He resides with his wife Kathleen in Parkville Maryland.
