Goucher Men's Golf Starts Program on High Note

First-year Roberto Mikse (Fort Worth, Texas) (74) led the way for the Gophers in their first round of Goucher golf history, finished third overall only two strokes over par.
"It was a tough day…windy conditions…but I was able to persevere mentally and that helped me to score. I kept it one shot at a time and enjoyed the process of competing. The Gophers are in position to make a run at the title with a good round on day 2. They currently sit fourth overall with a team score of 316 - only 11 strokes behind #23 Christopher Newport.
Sebastien Bonte chalked up the best round of the day with a 71-stroke afternoon.
"I was pleased with how we competed overall today. If we're able to get the putters hot tomorrow I think we can make a run. We are just staying focused on competing well" said Coach Brown. More results to follow.
The final round of the tournament begins tomorrow at 7 a.m.
