Men's Golf Places 6th at Don Scalf Memorial
The Goucher men’s golf team finished sixth place at the Don Scalf Memorial golf tournament hosted in Rocky Mount, N.C. on Sunday and Monday.
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Goucher men's golf team finished sixth place at the Don Scalf Memorial golf tournament hosted in Rocky Mount, N.C. on Sunday and Monday.
The Gophers finished at +35 as a team at the event. First-year Roberto Mikse (Fort Worth, Texas) led the Gophers, finishing 16th at +4 in the two-day tournament. He came out of the gate strong on Sunday, shooting an even par (72). He followed that performance up with a 76-stroke day on Monday.
Fellow first-year Evan Yue (Beijing, China) finished +6 for the Gophers, putting up a 74 and a 76 on Sunday and Monday, respectively, finishing tied for 17th place.
Steph Lee (Manalapan, N.J.), Wade Howard (Weston, Fla.), and Logan Smith (Dallas, Texas) rounded out the Gophers scores at the Don Scalf Memorial, at +11 (t-29th), +15 (t-39th) and +19 (42nd), respectively.
The hosting team, North Carolina Wesleyan took home the win in the event, finishing -6 as a team. Grady Anderson of N.C. Wesleyan won the individual title, shooting -8 over two rounds.
Goucher returns to play next weekend when it travels to Scranton to participate in the Scranton Fall Invite.
