Men's Golf Finishes Third in Landmark Fall Invite
The Goucher College men’s golf team finished third at the Landmark Conference Fall Invite on Saturday at the Glenmaura National Golf Club.
MOOSIC, Pa. – The Goucher College men's golf team finished third at the Landmark Conference Fall Invite on Saturday at the Glenmaura National Golf Club.
The Gophers finished third in their first Landmark Conference competition in program history behind two schools that had previously had golf as a varsity sport. Moravian took home the win on the day with a team score of 319. They were closely following by Scranton with a team score of 326. Goucher finished the afternoon with a 346 score as a team.
First-year Evan Yue (Beijing, China) led the Gophers on a windy day in Moosic, Pa. with a 79-stroke day, which ranked fourth overall in individual play. He was only four strokes behind the day's leader.
Fellow first-year Roberto Mikse (Fort Worth, Texas) finished eighth overall and second on the team with a score of 84 on the round. Wade Howard (Weston, Fla.) and Joe Burns (Kinnelon, N.J.) completed the Gopher scoring at 91 and 92, respectively. Steph Lee (Manalapan, N.J.) shot a 100 on the day.
Moravian had two of the top three golfers on the day, including Kevin Kunkle who shot the best round with a 75-stroke day. He was one stroke ahead of Scranton's Thomas McAuliffe.
Goucher is off next weekend before heading to Elkton, Md. to take part on the Revolutionary Collegiate Classic held by Ursinus.
