Men’s Golf Finishes Seventh in Spring Opener at UMW Eagle Invitational
STAFFORD, Va. - The Goucher College men’s golf team opened the spring portion of the 2017-18 season this weekend at the UMW Eagle Invitational at Augustine Golf Club, and the Gophers finished seventh overall as a team in the two-day event.
STAFFORD, Va. - The Goucher College men's golf team opened the spring portion of the 2017-18 season this weekend at the UMW Eagle Invitational at Augustine Golf Club, and the Gophers finished seventh overall as a team in the two-day event.
As a team, Goucher finished with a combined team scored of 650 (323-327). Leading the Gophers individually was first-year Joe Burns (Kinnelon, N.J.) who finished 21st overall after posting a two-day score of 158 (81-77).
Meanwhile, fellow first-year Evan Yue (Beijing, China) finished in a tie for 22nd with a combined score of 159 (79-80), and first-year Roberto Mikse (Fort Worth, Texas) placed in a tie for 35th with a score of 165 (81-84).
Overall, York captured the Invitational, finishing with a combined team score of 600.
The Goucher College men's golf team returns to action on Tuesday, March 27th as they travel to The Ace Club in Lafayette Hill, Pa. for a Tri-Match hosted by Thomas Jefferson. Action gets underway at 11 a.m.
