Men's Golf Takes Landmark Conference Fall Invitational; Gonzalez Wins Second Straight Tournament
HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Goucher College men's golf team picked up right where they left off against the rest of the Landmark Conference this weekend, as the Gophers grabbed the team title at the 2018 Landmark Fall Invitational, which was held at the par 72 Dauphin Highlands Golf Course over the last two days.

Entering Sunday's final round, the Gophers found themselves in second place as a team after posting a score of 311 on Saturday, trailing Drew by five shots.
In windy, cold conditions on Sunday, the Gophers excelled, posting a combined team score of 302 to finish with a two-day tally of 613 to best second place Scranton by 12 shots (625).
Individually, first year Julian Gonzalez (Heredia, Costa Rica) continued his excellent play in the early portion of his Goucher career, taking his second straight individual medalist honor after firing an even round 72 on Saturday and a two-under 70 on Sunday to finish with a combined score of 142 to win the tournament by eight shots. Gonzalez, who won last week's Revoluntionary Collegiate Classic, has now finished in the top three individually in the first four events of his collegiate career.
Elsewhere, sophomore Evan Yue (Beijing, China) finished third overall with a two-day score of 153 (78-75), while fellow sophomore Roberto Mikse (Fort Worth, Texas) placed in a tie for seventh with a combined score of 157 (81-76).
Rounding out the top finishers on the weekend for Goucher was first-year Nicholas Fisher (Fishers, Ind.) who placed in a tie for 15th overall with a two-day score of 161 (80-81).
The Landmark Fall Invitational caps off the Fall portion of the Gophers' 2018-19 schedule. The team will return to action in March.
