Burns Paces The Goucher Men's Golf "B" Team At Stevenson Fall Invitational
UPPERCO, Md. – Joe Burns (Kinnelon. N.J./Kinnelon) finished seventh to lead the Goucher College "B" men's golf team to a third-place standing at the Stevenson Fall Invitational on Thursday.
Burns shot a 78 to finish as the top Gopher and in seventh place with a round of 78, six strokes behind the medalist. It is the second time this season the junior shot a season-low 78 after carding a 78 in the first round of the Don Scalf Invitational on September 22.
Kaman Wilkinson (Granbury, Texas/Godley) (14th place, 83), Tomas Rodriguez (Richmond, Texas/George Bush) (22nd place, 88), Tim Winter (Howey In The Hills, Groningen/Harens Lyceum) (25th place, 89) and Miguel Reider (Mexico City, Mexico/Tecnológico de Monterrey) (26th place, 90) rounded out the Goucher competitors.
Stevenson won the single-round event with a score of 301, eight strokes ahead of Hood (309) while Goucher "B" (338), Stevenson "B" (342) and Bridgewater "B" (346) rounded out the Top-5 teams.
The Gophers conclude the fall season on Tuesday at the Franklin & Marshall Fall Invitational.
