Gophers Improve by 14 Strokes, Move Up to Finish Eighth
ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - The Goucher College men's golf team improved by 14 strokes on day two of the Battle at the Burg Monday, carding a 313 to move up one spot to eighth in the final standings.
Khai Buttner (Boston, Mass./Boston Latin School) led the Gophers on day two, firing a three-over 74 to improve by eight shots and move into a tie for 26th overall. Nick Fisher (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) improved his score by two shots, posting a 76 Monday, to finish tied for 21st.
Kaman Wilkinson (Granbury, Texas / Godley) cut four strokes off his opening round 84 to finish with an 80 on Monday. Jose Maria Gallegos (Ahome, Mexico / Montverde Academy) posted his second straight 83, while Tim Winter (Howey In The Hills, Groningen / Harens Lyceum) recorded an 87 on Monday.
Goucher returns to action Monday, October 18 when it travels to the Franklin & Marshall Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club in Lititz, Pa.
