Ruby Leads Gophers To Third Place at The Ruckus
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Goucher College men's golf team finished third out of nine competing teams at The Ruckus at Williamsburg National Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. The Gophers finished with a two-day score of 632, carding a 613 on Saturday and a 619 on Sunday.
Husson (619) took first place, with Washington & Jefferson (620) taking second. Adrian (634) and Drew (653) rounded out the top five.
First year Riley Ruby led the Gophers with an eighth-place finish. Ruby carded an even-par 72 on Saturday and sat in second place, before finishing at 152 for the tournament. He finished seven shots back of medalist Brian O'Dea of Christopher Newport.
Khai Buttner and Evan Yue tied for 15th place with a two-day total of 159. Buttner fired a 79 in round one, while Yue posted a 78 in Saturday's first round.
Andy Hill Garcia lowered his score by six shots on Sunday and posted a round two 78 and finished at 162 for the tournament to tie for 20th. Tyler Lynch finished at 165, including an 81 Sunday, and tied for 24th.
Goucher returns to action April 1-2 at the Alvernia Spring Invitational at Ledgerock Golf Club in Mohnton, Pa.
