Lynch, Gophers Place Second at The Bear
LIMERICK, Pa. - Led by a second-place finish by sophomore Tyler Lynch, the Goucher College men's golf team finished second out of 15 teams at The Bear hosted by Ursinus College on Thursday at Turtle Creek Golf Club. The Gophers finished with a score of 308, 12 shots behind Drew University B, which finished at 296.
Kean (316), Juniata (317) and Stevens B (318) rounded out the top five.
Lynch fired a two-over 74 to finish in a five-way tie for second place, one shot behind medalist Thomas Hurley of Drew. His round consisted of a pair of birdies and four bogeys.
Classmate Riley Ruby finished one shot behind Lynch with a three-over 75 to tie with two other players for seventh. Ruby recorded birdies on two of his first four holes on the day.
First year Samuel Tyson turned in a collegiate-best 76 to finish tied for 10th. Mikolaj Pula finished with a round of 83, while Mattias Hammendorp finished his round at 85.
Goucher returns to action October 20-21 when it travels to Williamsburg, Virginia to compete in The Melee at Ford's Colony Country Club.
