Gophers Move Up to Sixth at The Melee
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Goucher College men's golf team placed sixth out of 14 teams at The Melee at Ford's Colony Country Club on Sunday and Monday with a two-day score of 623. The Gophers sat tied for seventh after day one with a 315, then posted the fifth-lowest score on Monday, turning in a 308.
Sophomore Tyler Lynch led Goucher with a two-day score of 149 to finish in a three-way tie for sixth, seven shots behind medalist Elliot Parker of Drew University. Lynch shot a 77 on Sunday then turned in an even-par round of 72 on Monday in a round that featured three birdies and three bogeys.
Junior Andy Hill Garcia shot 77 on Sunday and 78 on Monday to finish 26th in the 69-player field. Sophomore Riley Ruby turned in identical 78s to finish at 156 and tied for 27th, one shot behind Garcia.
Gidi Katz posted an 80 on Monday and finished at 163 for the event, while Mikolaj Pula shot 81 on Monday and finished one stroke behind Katz.
Goucher wraps up the fall season Saturday and Sunday when it competes in the Landmark Conference Preview at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, site of the 2025 Landmark Conference Men's Golf Championship.
