Ruby Leads Cardinal Classic After Round One
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Goucher College Gophers traveled with two teams to compete at the Catholic Cardinal Classic. The first team placed second with a 296, to shoot +8 over par. The B-team is set at 8th/13 with a 320 (+32) after round one.
Riley Ruby is currently leading the Classic with a score of three under par. This came after shooting five holes under par, with a score of 33 on the first nine. He shot even on the back half (36) to finish with the final score of 69 in round one.
Teammates Tyler Lynch and Mikolaj Pula sit tied at 14th with a score of 75 (+3) after the first round.
Gidi Katz and Andy Hill Garcia round out the first team tied at 23rd with a score of 77 (+5).
The B team was led by First Year, Samuel Tyson who sits T-16th after shooting a 76 on the course. This came after shooting a 37(+1) in the first nine, and a 39(+3) on the back half.
Mattias Hammendorp finished tied for 23rd as well with a score of 77, followed by teammed Zeer Vittadanont who finished round one with a 78. Sulien Leon-Bromley rounded out the team in 59th after shooting an 89.
The Gophers continue at the Catholic Cardinal Classic tomorrow for round two.
