TOWSON, MD — Goucher found itself down 6-0 before
getting on the scoreboard for the first time nearly five minutes
into the third period today and wound up suffering an 11-3 loss to
York.
The loss drops the Gophers into fifth place in the Capital Athletic
Conference.
A goal by Kyle Henninger with :15 remaining in the period provided
the Spartans (5-6, 4-3 CAC) lwith a 4-0 lead after the first
quarter. The Gophers unleashed a total of 14 shots in the second
period, but the half ended with York still ahead 4-0.
Goucher (5-6, 4-4 CAC) finally got on the scoreboard on an
unassisted goal by Bryant Boucher (North Wales, PA/North
Penn) 4:57 into the third quarter, but the Spartans still
took a commanding 8-1 lead into the fourth period.
Dan Flamholz (Baltimore, MD/Park School) and
Ross Nochumowitz (Baltimore, MD/Park School)
tallied unassisted goals for Goucher in the final 1:35.
Henninger finished with four goals and an assist for the Spartans,
who defeated the Gophers for the first time in eight all-time
meetings last season and now has back-to-back wins over head coach
Kyle Hannan's squad.
