MADISON, N.J. - Goucher's Austin Main (Berlin, MD/Stephen Decatur) was recognized by the Landmark Conference today for his solid performance in goal in the Gophers' season-opening 10-6 triumph over Greensboro on Saturday.
The conference named the junior goalkeeper its Defensive Player of the Week for Feb. 18-24.
Main turned away six shots and allowed only one goal in the fourth quarter to put the finishing touches on a 15-save effort against the Pride, which got off a total of 32 shots.
Main started all 17 games for the Gophers in 2007 and finished the season with a .577 save percentage.
