TOWSON, Md. - Ten different players scored goals for Goucher today as the Gophers rolled over Moravian, 20-2, to remain tied with Drew for first place in the Landmark Conference.
After a goal by Moravian's Jason Tosches 3:30 into the contest tied the score at 1-1, the Gophers reeled off 11 unanswered goals, taking a 12-1 lead on a goal by Jake Fratella (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) with 4:09 remaining before halftime. Goucher (8-3, 3-0 Landmark) was ahead 14-2 at the break.
Casey Hughes (Woodstock, MD/Mt. Hebron) opened the scoring in the second half with his fifth goal of the game. Dave Duff (Westwood, MA/Suffield Academy) contributed three goals to the victory, and Brian Hoge (Crofton, MD/Arundel), Cooper Mazon (Littleton, CO/Mullen), Alex Boucher (North Wales, PA/Germantown Academy) and Chris Argonish (New Brunswick, NJ/St. Joseph) all scored twice.
Robert Devine talled the second goal for Moravian (4-8, 0-4 Landmark).
The Gophers outshot the Greyhounds, 62-24, and finished with a 59-37 advantage in ground balls.
