TOWSON, Md. - Two lacrosse players from Goucher have been selected to play in upcoming Division III Senior All-Star Games.
Dave Duff (Westwood, MA/Suffield Academy) will suit up as a midfielder for the South when the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association conducts its 67th annual North/South Senior All-Star Games this coming Friday in Cambridge, Mass, and Kate Knitter (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) will be representing Goucher in the 2008 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/Under Armour North/South Senior All-Star Game on June 14 in Downingtown, Pa.
Duff, only the third player in the history of Goucher's men's lacrosse program picked to play in the North/South Senior All-Star Game, earned first-team All-Landmark Conference recognition following a 28-goal, 10-assist performance in his final season with the Gophers.
The Division III men's game will be played in Harvard Stadium, starting at 2:00.
When she was awarded a spot on the 2008 All-Landmark Conference Women's Lacrosse Team as a midfielder, Knitter became only the eighth female lacrosse player from Goucher to receive all-conference honors three times during her career. She has also been an All-Chesapeake Region selection twice (2006 and 2007), with the announcement of this year's all-region perfomers still pending.
Knitter supplied the Gophers with 53 goals and 14 assists for a total of 67 points in 2008.
