The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association today released its All-America teams for 2011 and, for the second year in a row, Matt Lynch (Ivyland, Pa./LaSalle College) and Justin Dunn (Denver, Colo./Mullen) were both on the Division III list as honorable mentions. Lynch and Dunn started all 17 games this season as the Gophers went 11-6 and reached the finals of the Landmark Conference postseason tournament.
Lynch, a junior midfielder, supplied the Gophers with 30 goals and 26 assists this season. In addition to his 56 points, he finished with a .323 shooting percentage, 47 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
Dunn repeated as a Division III All-American for his performance on the defensive end of the field. A three-year starter, the senior defenseman led the Gophers with 46 caused turnovers and ranked second on the team in ground balls (53).
Dunn holds the school records for most caused turnovers in a game (7), a season (59) and a career (140).
Lynch and Dunn join goalkeeper Reeves Craig (2003-04-05) and defenseman Chris Webber (2004-05) as the only USILA Division III All-Americans in school history.
