Seven Goals on Same Number of Shots for Ingram

MADISON, N.J. — Pierce Ingram (Austin, Texas/Westwood), who had never before in his career scored more than three goals in a game, supplied Goucher with seven goals this afternoon as the Gophers improved to 22-3 all-time in Landmark Conference games by downing Drew, 18-8.

All seven of the shots the sophomore midfielder took against the Rangers (5-2, 1-1 Landmark) turned into goals. He opened the scoring two minutes into the contest with an unassisted goal and also tallied the final goal of the first quarter, which ended with the Gophers on top, 6-2.

Ingram tallied one of Goucher's three goals in the second period and accounted for the first three goals the Gophers (9-1, 2-0 Landmark) managed in the third quarter. His seventh was an extra-man goal that made the score 18-6 with 9:30 left to play.

Goucher's remaining 11 goals were spread out among five other players with Kyle Boncaro (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) and Rory Averett (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North) contributing three apiece to the victory, Matt Lynch (Ivyland, Pa./LaSalle College) turning in a two-goal, four-assist performance, Zachary Fratella (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) adding two goals of his own and John Curry (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) scoring once in the second quarter.

Boncaro, Goucher's all-time leader with 235 career points, had three assists to go along with his three goals.

The Rangers, who have now dropped two straight after getting off to a 5-0 start, trailed only 9-5 at halftime, but they were outscored 6-1 in the third quarter, managing only an extra-man goal by Andrew Somps.

Connor Mishaw (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine), who started in goal for Goucher, made eight saves and allowed only six goals while playing well into the fourth quarter. Karl Wiszumerski (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School), Mishaw's backup, made five saves over the final 6:44.

Not one of the four goalkeepers who saw action for Drew made more than two saves.

D.J. Shelton (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) won 12 faceoffs and picked up six ground balls for the Gophers.
