Boncaro, Lynch to Suit Up for South in Friday's All-Star Event
PERRY, N.Y. — Two players from Goucher — attackman Kyle Boncaro (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) and midfielder Matt Lynch (Ivyland, Pa./LaSalle College) — have been selected to play in the upcoming 71st annual USILA/LaxWorld Division III North/South Game in Boston, according to a release issued today by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
Boncaro and Lynch will both suit up for the South in the annual all-star contest, which will take place this coming Friday in Harvard Stadium, beginning at 3 p.m. The Division I-II North/South Game will follow at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets for both games can be purchased at the stadium.
Dave Webster, head coach at Dickinson, will serve as the head coach of the Division III South squad.
Boncaro and Lynch are only the fourth and fifth players in the history of Goucher's men's lacrosse program picked to play in the North/South Game, but this is the first time the school has had two players chosen in the same year. Goucher's first North/South representative was Qadir Stern in 2002; Reeves Craig (2005) and David Duff (2008) have also appeared in the all-star event.
Boncaro, who set a new single-season school record by scoring 58 goals this season, is Goucher's all-time leader in points (273). Lynch, who concluded his career with 117 goals and 103 assists, was an honorable mention USILA Division III All-American in 2010 and again in 2011.
