Landmark Recognizes Pair of Goucher Student-Athletes

Back-to-Back Weekly Honors for Senior Goalkeeper

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher produced the two of the Players of the Week in the Landmark Conference for the final seven days of March: Jaclyn Kellon (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) and Connor Mishaw (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine). The list of 13 student-athletes who were selected as the week's top performers in their respective sports was announced this afternoon.

Kellon was selected the Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week for running event after her performance at Saturday's Goucher Track & Field Classic. She was the first to cross the finish line in the 400-meter hurdles and her winning time of 1:05.01 is the second-fastest in the history of the school's women's outdoor track and field program, 17-hundredths of a second behind the time she posted when she was crowned champion in the event at the 2011 Landmark Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

She also broke the Gopher Stadium record in the 400 hurdles by more than one second. The former record of 1:06.02 was established by Melissa Johnson from Juniata when the Landmark meet was last held at Goucher in 2009.

This makes back-to-back honors as Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for Mishaw. In Saturday's 10-2 triumph over Susquehanna that lifted the Gophers into sole possession of first place in the Landmark Conference, the senior goalkeeper played into the fourth quarter and finished with 13 saves, raising his save percentage in the three Landmark games the Gophers have completed so far this season to .810.

Mishaw was the first-team goalkeeper on the 2012 All-Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Team.
