Second Game-Winning OT Goal for Sophomore Attackman
TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's Sam Morgan (Wilmot, N.H./Kearsarge Regional) seems to have a flair for scoring momentous goals. It's what made him the Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference for April 15-21.
Of the two goals the sophomore attackman produced in Saturday's game against Scranton, it was the one he tallied 2:23 into overtime that made him today's recipient of the weekly honor. That goal provided the Gophers with a 7-6 triumph in a game where the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference postseason tournament was riding on the outcome.
Morgan also tallied a game-winning OT goal on April 13, lifting head coach Brian Kelly's squad past Catholic, 11-10. With 12 goals and 14 assists to his credit, he is the only player on Goucher's roster to reach double figures in both categories so far this season.
