Five from Goucher Earn All-Landmark Recognition

Coaches Go With Mishaw as Top Goalkeeper Again

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's leaders this season in goals, saves, caused turnovers and face-offs won are all first-team selections on the 2013 All-Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Team.

As revealed today, the team includes 27 student-athletes representing all seven of the men's lacrosse programs which compete in the Landmark Conference. Position-by-position voting was done by the head coaches and the balloting produced a first team that included four attackman, three midfielders, a long-stick midfielder, a short-stick defensive midfielder, a face-off specialist, three defenseman and a goalkeeper, as well as a second team made up of 13 additional players.

The four players from Goucher who earned first-team All-Landmark honors were senior goalkeeper Connor Mishaw (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine), senior defenseman Bryce Carson (Wyomissing, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School), junior midfielder Pierce Ingram (Austin, Texas/Westwood) and sophomore face-off specialist Tristan Morris (Houston, Texas/Houston Christian).

This is the second year in a row that the Landmark coaches selected Mishaw as the conference's top goalkeeper. Only the fourth player at his position to surpass 600 career saves in the history of Goucher's men's lacrosse program, Mishaw stopped 186 shots while starting all 16 games for the Gophers in 2013. He compiled a 4.93 goals-against average and a conference-leading .707 save percentage in Goucher's six Landmark contests.

Carson, who moved up from being a second-team selection in 2012, was credited with 36 caused turnovers in his final season with the Gophers, more than twice as many as any other player on the roster. He ranked second on the team and third in the conference with 60 ground balls.

Ingram, a starter in all 16 games, supplied the Gophers with a team-high total of 26 goals. He was also awarded 10 assists, making him the team leader with 36 points.

Morris won 139 of the conference-high 276 face-offs he handled this season for a .504 winning percentage. The sophomore also led both the Landmark and Goucher in ground balls (80).

Only one spot on the All-Landmark second team went to a player from head coach Brian Kelly's squad. It was filled by senior midfielder Zachary Fratella (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine), who turned in a 15-goal, eight-assist performance in his final season with the Gophers.

Fratella was also a second-team midfielder on the 2011 All-Landmark Men's Lacrosse Team.
