PERRY, N.Y. — Pierce Ingram (Austin, Texas/Westwood) became the eighth individual in the history of Goucher's men's lacrosse program to earn Division III All-America honors when he was on the list for this year released today by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
A four-year starting midfielder, Ingram made the 2014 USILA Division III All-America Team presented by Northwestern Mutual as an honorable mention. In his final season, he was the third-leading scorer, supplying the Gophers with 21 goals and seven assists for a total of 28 points. In addition, he was credited with 33 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
"What a fantastic and deserving way for Pierce to finish up his career at Goucher," commented second-year head coach Brian Kelly upon learning that Ingram was named an All-American by the USILA. "He meant so much to our team, particularly the past two years, and it was an honor to coach such an outstanding young man."
With his selection, Goucher has now produced at least one USILA All-American in each of the past five years.
The only other midfielder from Goucher to be named an All-American was Matt Lynch, who was an honorable mention in 2010 and 2011 before landing on the third team as a senior in 2012.
Ingram, a first-team selection on the 2014 All-Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Team, was also the recipient of the Coaches Award, presented annually to the senior athlete that has most completely represented Goucher throughout his athletic career.
