Matt Woodson of Men’s Lacrosse Named Goucher College Athlete of the Week
Sophomore attacker Matt Woodson (Timonium, Md.) scored five goals in two matches last week, helping the Gophers win both of their matches. For his efforts, Woodson was named the Goucher College Athlete of the Week for the period ending March 4th, 2018.

Woodson kicked his week off by scoring two goals and adding an assist at McDaniel on Wednesday night, helping the Gophers take a 5-4 victory. Both of Woodson's goals came in the first half of the contest, as his assist came on the eventual game-winning goal for the Gophers late in regulation.
On Saturday at home against Centre, Woodson posted the first hat trick of his career, adding two more assists to lead Goucher to a 10-9 win. In each match on the week, Woodson posted three ground balls, apiece, as well.
For the year, Woodson has already scored five goals and leads the team with 12 assists. The assist mark is currently tied for the best in the Landmark Conference to date.
Woodson and the rest of the Goucher men's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to Messiah. Face-off is set for 7 p.m.
