Bailey, Gorman & Lasorda Net Hat Tricks in 13-4 Win Over Neumann
The Goucher College Men’s Lacrosse team (5-4 overall) rolled over Neumann College 13-4 on the road, Saturday afternoon.
ASTON, Pa. – The Goucher College Men's Lacrosse team (5-4 overall) rolled over Neumann College, 13-4, on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Gophers opened up the scoring early, getting two goals within the first eight minutes of play. Neumann tied up the game early in the second quarter, but Goucher quickly turned around and scored two goals before the end of the half, making it 4-2.
Goucher found momentum in the second half, scoring six goals in the third quarter and three goals in the fourth quarter, while only allowing the Knights to score two goals in the third.
Offensively, Goucher had three players find twine, three times each.
Senior midfielder Pierce Bailey (Miami, Fla.) had three goals and an assist, junior midfielder Mason Gorman (Boise, Idaho) finished with three goals and two assists, and junior midfielder Grant Lasorda (Collegeville, Pa.) had three goals and an assist. Senior midfielder Derek Bitzer (Doylestown, Pa.) also chipped in with a goal and tallied four assists. Senior attackman Michael Bulnes (Miami, Fl.) scored his first goal of the season, as well.
Defensively, senior defenseman Corey Hill (Emmaus, Pa.) had four ground balls and a caused turnover. The defense allowed the Knights to take 26 shots during the contest, and only 11 of them were on goal. Senior goaltender Matt Messerle (Limerick, Pa.) had seven saves in the cage.

Goucher will have the week off as they prepare to host their first Landmark Conference opponent. They hit the field again next Saturday against Scranton at 1 pm.
