BALTIMORE, Md. – For the second-straight year Matt Woodson (Timonium, Md./McDonough) and Justin Lugo (Davie, Fla./St. Andrew's School), members of the Goucher College men's lacrosse team, have swept the Landmark Conference weekly honors. Woodson was selected as the Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week for the third time in his career while Lugo nabbed his second Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week nod for the week of February 24-March 1, 2020. The duo also swept the awards for the week of March 11-17, 2019.
Woodson posted three goals and two assists in both games this week to finish with six goals and four assists for 10 points while also reaching a career milestone with 100 points in a 2-0 week for the Gophers. Woodson added a goal in the third and fourth quarter to help seal the win against the Green Terror. He then scored the first two goals of the game for Goucher in a 9-7 win against Lebanon Valley on Saturday to give the Gophers the lead they would not relinquish. After tying the game at 1, Woodson handed the squad the lead for good unassisted at 4:15 in the first quarter for what would also be his 100th career point. He would add a goal and two assists in the second half to help seal the victory.
