TOWSON, Md. - The McDaniel College men's lacrosse team jumped out to a 4-0 first quarter lead en route to an 11-3 non-conference men's lacrosse victory over Goucher College Wednesday evening at Beldon Field.
- McDaniel (2-1) got on the board on a Nick DeLoriers goal 32 seconds into the game, and extended the lead to 2-0 49 seconds later.
- The Green Terror scored two more times in the final 1:03 of the first to go up 4-0 through 15 minutes.
- McDaniel outshot Goucher (0-4) 9-5 in the opening quarter.
- The guests extended the lead to 5-0 on a Dom Calderoni tally 3:33 into the frame.
- Goals by McDaniel at 7:46 and 4:26 increased the lead to 7-0.
- The Gophers got on the board with 3:03 left before halftime as Milan Temple (Joppatowne, Md.) scored an unassisted tally.
- Goucher goalie Justin Lugo (Davie, Fla./Saint Andrew's) made seven saves in the second.
- Jared Heath (Windham, N.H./New Hampton) scored for Goucher with 5:36 left in the third quarter.
- The Gophers held McDaniel scoreless for over 17 minutes until a Zach Micklos goal with 2:27 left in the third.
- The Green Terror added another goal with 1:41 left in the frame.
- Jared Halverson (Durham, N.C./Charles E. Jordan) scored with six seconds remaining to make it a 9-3 game.
- McDaniel scored twice in the first 3:48 of the fourth to build an 11-3 lead.
- The Gophers outshot the Green Terror 16-10 in the final period.
- McDaniel held a 45-34 shot advantage on the evening.
- Lugo made a season-high 18 saves and registered a .621 save percentage on the evening.
- The guests won 15-of-18 faceoffs for the game.
