ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Goucher College men's lacrosse team closed out its 2022 campaign with a 28-4 loss at Elizabethtown College Saturday afternoon at Wolf Field.
- Micah Ballew scored for the Blue Jays (10-6, 6-1 Landmark) 48 seconds into the contest.
- The Gophers (2-14, 1-6) got on the board and tied the game 1:09 later on an unassisted tally by Jared Halverson (Durham, N.C./Charles E. Jordan).
- Etown scored three times in a 1:32 span to build a 4-1 lead at the 10:34 mark.
- Goucher converted a man-up opportunity with Milan Temple (Joppatowne, Md./Concordia Prep) scoring with 9:02 on the clock. Ben Smith (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) assisted on the goal.
- The hosts rattled off five straight goals to take a 9-2 lead with 2:53 to go.
- Eric Conaway, Jr. (Baltimore, Md./Cristo Rey Jesuit) scored his first collegiate goal with 1:47 on the clock to make it 9-3 through 15 minutes.
- Derek Baldwin's goal 1:24 into the second quarter sparked seven straight goals for Etown in the quarter.
- The Blue Jays led 16-3 at halftime.
- Etown scored the first two goals of the second half.
- Jack McDermott (Wilmington, Del./The White Mountain School) recorded a man-up goal for the Gophers at the 10:49 mark, with Smith again assisting.
