TOWSON, Md. - First year goalie Jack Smith made a career-best 19 saves as the Goucher College men's lacrosse team dropped a 16-8 decision to the University of Scranton in Landmark Conference play Thursday evening at Beldon Field.
- Scranton (4-6, 2-0 Landmark) scored 39 seconds into the game.
- Goucher (6-4, 0-2) responded at the 10:21 mark on a James Dugan goal.
- After two Royal goals 44 seconds apart, Tyler May scored to cut the lead to 3-2 with 4:55 left in the quarter.
- Dylan White scored with 2:56 on the clock off a Jacob Morgan feed to tie the game 3-3.
- The Royals led 4-3 after one quarter.
- Scranton reeled off four straight goals to build an 8-3 lead with 4:25 left before halftime.
- Dugan's second goal of the night made it 8-4 with 1:55 left.
- The Royals added a goal in the final seconds to take a 9-4 lead into the break.
- The guests scored three times in the first 3:22 of the second half to go up 12-4.
- Dugan's third goal came at the 7:44 mark.
