Jack Smith Chosen as Landmark Defensive Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College men's lacrosse first year goalie Jack Smith was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for men's lacrosse on Tuesday afternoon.

Making his collegiate debut Saturday, Smith made a total of 15 saves as the Gophers downed Methodist University 12-8 in their season opener on the road.  In addition to posting a .652 save percentage, Smith also recorded a pair of ground balls and a caused turnover.

Goucher plays its home opener on Saturday, February 24 when it hosts McDaniel College in a 1 pm contest at Beldon Field.
