Nolan is the fourth Goucher men's lacrosse student-athlete to earn the award.
TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference announced Wednesday that Goucher College men's lacrosse senior Sean Nolan has been named the recipient of the conference's Senior Scholar-Athlete Award for men's lacrosse. Nolan is the fourth Gopher men's lacrosse player and the 21st Goucher student-athlete to capture the honor in their respective sport.
Alex Boucher (2009), Bryce Carson (2013) and Matt Woodson (2020) are the other Goucher men's lacrosse recipients of the award.
Honorees for the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete Award must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion.
Nolan, a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major with a Pre-Med concentration, has been a three-year starter for the Gopher men's lacrosse program. This season, Nolan, a defender, earned Landmark Second Team All-Conference honors after recording a team-best 42 caused turnovers, a number that led the conference and placed him second in caused turnovers per game. Over his career Nolan totaled 99 caused turnovers, placing him tied for fourth in program history.
A Dean's List student and Landmark Academic Honor Roll member, Nolan has worked with Goucher professor Kevin Schultz on research to create new variations of flavonoids for a new Alzheimer's drug. He is a graduate of the Gopher Leadership Academy and has also served as a camp counselor at Endless Summer lacrosse camps in his hometown of Las Vegas.
