Gophers Take Down Nor'easters at Home

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College Gophers (6-2 Overall) hosted the Nor'easters of the University of New England (4-4 Overall) in a spring break matchup. Goucher overcame the Nor'easters 10-2 on Beldon Field.
- The University of New England opened the scoring in the contest with an early goal by McCoy.
- Milan Temple responded just 15 seconds later to tie the game 1-1.
- Back-to-back goals by Tyler May put the Gopers up 3-1 going into the second quarter.
- The second quarter held the least scoring, but tallied four saves from each keeper.
- Jacob Morgan and Scott Tayman teamed up for the only goal in the second quarter (3:23).
- Tayman added a man-up goal off a Temple assist to begin the quarter, after a second quarter penalty extended into the third.
- The Gophers added two more goals in the quarter, with Temple netting both, the second coming with 2:23 remaining on the clock.
- To begin the final quarter, James Dean added a goal on the board for Goucher just over a minute and a half in.
- Kevin Gearhart put one in the net, off a Morgan assist to put the Gophers up eight.
- Tayman and Morgan team up once again for the final goal of the game for Goucher (6:14).
- The final goal of the contest came from the University of New England with 2:44 remaining on the clock.
- Temple led the team with four points, notching three goals and one assist. This was closely followed by Tayman and Morgan with three each.
- Sean Nolan led the Gophers with four caused turnovers he also added four ground balls, Jack Schiavone following closely behing with three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
- Jack Smith collected eight saves on the 10 shots he faced, he also led the team with six ground balls.
- Goucher outshot the Nor'easters 49-24, and collected more groundballs in the contest (30-27).
- The Gophers went 1-3 on the man-advantage, and went 28-31 on clears.
- David Vucci went 11-15 on faceoffs for Goucher, and also collected two ground balls.
- The men host Elizabethtown in their first Landmark matchup of the 2025 season, on March, 22nd at 1pm on Beldon Field.
