Gophers Shutout Colonels with Eight Different Goal Scorers

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College Gophers (7-5 Overall; 1-3 Conference) shutout the Wilkes University Colonels (4-9 Overall; 1-4 Conference) in a 24-0 Landmark Conference victory.
- First Year Scott Tayman began the scoring for the Gophers, just three minutes into play off an unassisted goal.
- Milan Temple and Jacob Morgan teamed up for three goals in the first quarter, with the first coming at 7:38 on the clock. The other two came within a minute of each other (2:40; 2:02).
- Senior Tyler May added two in the first quarter, his first coming at 5:25 off an assist from Temple, and the second unassisted (4:12).
- Gianni Karam added his first of the game at 4:27, off an unasssited play.
- Morgan recorded his first goal of the game, at the 10:21 mark, off a Temple assist to the put the Gophers up eight.
- Karam added two this quarter, his first off an assist from Morgan (9:42), his second coming from Sean Nolan (3:31).
- Senior attackman Kevin Gearhart finished two this quarter, both unassisted.
- First Year Nick Pusey recorded his first off the season off a pass from Tayman (5:51).
- Morgan added two more to end the quarter, the fist being unassisted and the second coming from Jack Murdaugh.
- The Gophers led at the half 15-0.
- Murdaugh opened the scoring of the half, just under a minute in off an unassisted shot.
- Tayman and Temple team up for the 17th goal for teh Gophers (8:48).
- Just over halfway through the quarter, Karam put one in the net from Morgan.
- The final goal of the quarter came from Temple off a Morgan assist (5:20).
- Karam scored the first three goals of the final quarter, with Morgan asssiting one.
- Temple added his fifth of the night at the 6:08 mark.
- The final goal of teh game was recorded at 4:51, coming from Morgan.
- Goucher tallied 37 points in the game, being led by Morgan with 11 (4 goals, 7 assists).
- Jack Smith played the first half of the game (30 minutes), and added sevent saves. At half Josh Steinmiller went in, adding 30 minutes to his total on the season and recording six saves.
- Six different Gophers caused a turnover on the night, including Jason Luk, Sean Phillips, Nick Gambone, James Dean, Nolan, and Karam.
- On the faceoff, David Vucci went 16-28, leading the team with five groundballs.
- The Gophers outshot the Colonels 69-30 and collected more groundballs (46-29).
