Rosse Scores Goal, Makes Save in 5-1 Loss to Cardinals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Goucher's Evan Rosse (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) accomplished the rare feat of scoring a goal and making a save in the same game today, a 5-1 Landmark Conference loss to Catholic.
Tim McMullen (Millersville, Md./Old Mill) set up Rosse's goal at 15:20 that created a 1-1 tie. The Cardinals (10-3, 3-2 Landmark), who broke out on top with an unassisted goal by Brian Pappas at 5:39, went ahead to stay on a goal by Brian Maher at 27:05.
The Gophers (7-6-1, 1-3 Landmark) didn't fall any further behind until the Cardinals struck for a pair of goals just 1:18 apart early in the second half. Matt Brady's unassisted goal at 52:19 made the score 3-1 and then Brady picked up an assist on a goal by Kevin Duffy at 53:37.
Brady also set up the final goal of the contest by Michael DiMarco at 72:28.
Rosse re-entered the game as Goucher's goalkeeper in the 82nd minute and made a save on the only shot he faced.
