Andrew Mpasiakos Named Men's Soccer Assistant Coach
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College men's head soccer coach Bryan Laut has announced that Andrew Mpasiakos has joined the Gophers program as an assistant coach. Mpasiakos began his duties at Goucher last month.
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College men's head soccer coach Bryan Laut has announced that Andrew Mpasiakos has joined the Gophers program as an assistant coach. Mpasiakos began his duties at Goucher last month.
Mpasiakos comes to Goucher from Virginia Wesleyan, where he earned his bachelor's degree in International Studies (with a concentration in Business) in May of 2017.
While at Virginia Wesleyan, Mpasiakos earned four letters in soccer, earning a spot on the ODAC All-Academic Team twice throughout the course of his career. In his first-year season of 2013, Mpasiakos helped Virginia Wesleyan win the ODAC Championships, as the Marlins advanced on to the NCAA Tournament.
A native of Monroe, New York, Mpasiakos has already held several positions in the soccer world. In the Summers of 2015 and 2016, he worked for the New York Red Bulls' Youth Training Division, while during his time at Virginia Wesleyan, he served as a youth coach with several organizations and assisted in youth camps throughout the community.
This past summer, Mpasiakos was the head coach/trainer for Cedar Stars Academy in Hudson Valley, N.Y., while he also served as a full-time manager at the Capelli Sport Center in Florida, New York since June of 2017 before coming to Goucher.
Mpasiakos also holds the following certifications: USC Premier Diploma (formerly NSCAA), USC Advanced National Diploma (formerly NSCAA), USSF National "D" License, USSF National "E" License, and a USC Special Topics: Reading the Game Diploma.
At Goucher, Mpasiakos will pursue a Masters Degree in Education.
