HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata College scored the go-ahead goal with just 22 seconds remaining as the Eagles posted a 2-1 Landmark Conference men's soccer victory over Goucher College at Gibbel Stadium Saturday afternoon. First year Abobeleh Nkemawung scored his first collegiate goal for the Gophers.
- Goucher (4-4-2, 0-2 Landmark) goalie Ale Sternini made his first save of the game six minutes in.
- Michael Adekanmbi had three shots in a two-minute span for the Gophers, with one blocked and two going wide.
- Juniata (5-2-4, 2-0) goalie Maxwell Mattioni made a save on an Elliot Bezdek bid in the 17th minute.
- Nkemawung got the Gophers on the board just six minutes after entering the game in the 31st minute, putting home a feed from Adekanmbi.
- Juniata had two corner kicks in the final five minutes of the half but Goucher took a 1-0 lead into intermission.
- Sternini made his first save of the second half two minutes in.
- Tre Byrd sent a shot high with just over 25 minutes left.
- Sternini made back-to-back saves on Jase Colino in the 67th minute.
- The Eagles were awarded a penalty kick in the 76th minute, with Sternini saving Brandon Marzula's PK attempt.
