Men’s Tennis Draws Messiah in First Round of NCAA Division III Championship
The Goucher College men's tennis team will head to the campus of Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. this weekend for the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Championship. There, the Gophers will take on Messiah in the First Round on either Thursday or Friday at a time to be announced.

Host Williams awaits the winner of the Goucher-Messiah match on either Friday or Saturday in the Second Round. Nichols, Baruch, and Amherst are the other three teams that will be playing on the weekend in Williamstown.

This marks the third straight season in which Goucher will participate in the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship, as the Gopher clinched the Landmark Conference's automatic bid to the field this past Saturday by taking their third straight Landmark title over Scranton, 5-2.
Goucher finished the 2017-18 regular and conference postseason with a 23-4 overall record, the best mark not only in Gopher program history but Landmark Conference history, as well. Overall, the Gophers are winners of 11 of their last 12 matches.
Messiah, meanwhile, comes into the NCAA Tournament with a 10-7 mark for the year. The Falcons clinched a bid into the field on Saturday after blanking Lebanon Valley in the MAC Commonwealth championship match, 5-0. The MAC Commonwealth title is Messiah's fifth in a row overall, as well.
The NCAA First Round matchup between the Gophers and Falcons is a rematch of a regular season contest back on Oct. 7. Then, Goucher rolled to a 9-0 victory over Messiah at home.
