Men's Tennis Takes 6-3 Decision at York

In the win, the Gophers got things started with a pair of victories in doubles action to take a 2-1 lead into singles.
At number one doubles, junior Slade Dumas (Great Falls, Va.) and first-year Brian Kane (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded an 8-5 win, while at number two in the doubles lineup, senior Elliot Diehl (York, Pa.) and first-year Omosesan Adebamgbe (Philadelphia, Pa.) notched an 8-6 victory.
In singles action, the Gophers captured four of the six matches contested to take the victory over the host Spartans by three points.
At number one singles, Dumas was a straight set victor (6-4, 6-3), while at number three, Kane became a two-time winner on the day with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph.
In the number four spot on the singles line-up, Adebamgbe was a straight-set winner (6-3, 6-1) to clinch the team victory for Goucher, while senior Josiah Meekins (Trenton, N.J.) finished off the afternoon for the Gophers with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win at number five.
The Goucher College men's tennis team will return to action in Spring, starting their campaign and defense of their Landmark Conference Championship in late February.
