Goucher Men's Tennis Player Michael Herman Selected As A Landmark Conference Athlete Of The Week
BALTIMORE, Md. – Michael Herman (Prague, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Nova Porg), a member of the Goucher College men's tennis team, has been named a Landmark Conference Athlete Of The Week.
With the unprecedented cancellation of spring sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Landmark will be recognizing an athlete from each member institution in each conference-sponsored spring sport for the remainder of the academic year. Honorees were nominated for recognition by their respective institution.
This year, Herman went 2-2 in singles play at a Division I tournament hosted by Loyola University in the fall and also teamed up with fellow senior Frankie Mullinix (North Sutton, N.H./The George School) to go 3-1 in the same tournament.
Herman helped Goucher to three-straight Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Championship titles and will leave Goucher seventh in program history in doubles wins (44) and 11th in singles wins (41). The 2017 Landmark Conference Co-Rookie of the Year and all-conference second teamer in singles and doubles, is the only senior to have earned a win in each of the three trips to the NCAA Championships after posting a 3-1 record in singles play on the national stage.
