Naftoly Honored by Landmark for Second Time

TOWSON, Md. - For the second time this season, Goucher College men's tennis sophomore Gabe Naftoly has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Naftoly, playing at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Gophers, went 3-0 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles action in wins over Catholic, Juniata and Moravian this past week.  The three wins allowed Goucher to lock up the No. 1 seed in next week's Landmark Conference Championship.

On the season, Naftoly has won four straight singles matches and he is 12-7 overall, including 7-0 in Landmark play.  He and Calis Nguyen are 5-3 in the Landmark in doubles action.

11-8 overall and 8-0 in the Landmark, Goucher wraps up the regular season Thursday when it travels to Susquehanna University for a 4 pm match.
