Holtschneider Earns First Win With Gophers, Men Record First of Season

SALISBURY, Md. - Goucher Men's Tennis (2-3 Overall) traveled to face Salisbury and Methodist in a double-header. The team secured their first victory under head coach Debbie Holtschneider, adding their first win for the spring against Methodist 5-2.
- With two wins in doubles, Goucher was able to secure the first point of the match.
- Benedikt Rummel and Gabe Naftoly teamed up in the first match, winning 6-3.
- The third doubles team, consisting of Tadeo Asprella and Jackson Beam, beat out their opponents 6-2.
- Asprella finished his opponent in the #2 singles, finishing 6-4 and 6-1.
- Rummel added another point for the Gophers in the #3 position, winning in two sets (6-4 and 6-1).
- In the #4 singles matchup Calis Nguyen battles against his opponent, going into three sets to secure the victory, 4-6, 7-6, and 6-0.
- Guilherme Moraes earned his singles match in the #5 matchup, after falling in the first set 5-7, 6-2, and 6-2.
- Rummel and Asprella swept their mathces for the meet.
- This win records the first win of the spring for the Gophers and first under new head coach.
- The men travel to face Landmark Conference opponent, Elizabethtown on Sunday, March 2nd. This match is set to begin at noon.
