Gophers Defeat Greyhounds to Remain Undefeated in Conference Play

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Goucher College Gophers (8-5 Overall; 3-0 Conference) traveled to take on the Moravian University Greyhounds (8-5 Overall; 2-1 Conference) in a Landmark Conference matchup. The Gophers gave the Greyhounds their first Conference loss of the season in a 5-2 victory.

The Gophers swept the Greyhounds in doubles to secure the point.
In the No. 1 match, Gabe Naftoly and Benedikt Rummel finished in a 6-1 victory.
Tadeo Asprella and George King won the No. 2 doubles 6-3.
The No. 3 doubles was an extended match, leading to a 7-5 win for Jackson Beam and Guilherme Moraes.

Naftoly secured the point in the No. 1 singles, after holding off his opponent in the second set (6-2, 7-5).
Asprella earned the No. 2 singles victory 6-4, 6-3.
In the No. 3 singles, Rummel pulled out the win in an extended match 7-6(7-5), 1-6, 7-5.
Calis Nguyen won in the No. 4 singles, after forcing a tie breaker 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7).
King and Beam fell in the 5 and 6 matches.

The Gophers host the Drew University Rangers on Saturday, March 29th in a 1pm Landmark Conference match.
