Gophers Sweep Rangers at Home

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College Gophers (9-5 Overall; 4-0 Conference) hosted the Drew University Rangers (4-7 Overall; 1-2 Conference) on Saturday afternoon. They took down the Rangers 7-0 in the Landmark Conference matchup.

• In the No. 1 doubles, Gabe Naftoly and Benedikt Rummel were able to take down their opponents 6-3.
• George King and Tadeo Asprella secured the win the No. 2 doubles, in a 6-3 match.
• The final doubles match consisted of Guilherme Moraes and Jackson Beam who won 6-4.

• In the No. 1 singles, Naftoly fought to a third set, after dropping the second, winning 6-1, 1-6, 6-1. 
• Asprella fought through a third set as well after losing the second set. He was able to pull out the win (6-4, 1-6, 11-9).
• The No. 3 singles match also included a third set fight. Rummel battled back after dropping the first set to win the next two (4-6, 6-4, 6-2).
• Calis Nguyen won in straight sets in the No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
• Moraes only allowed three games tho his opponent, winning the No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-1.
• In the No. 6 singles, King won in back-to-back sets (6-2, 6-2).

• The Goucher men travel to face Juniata on Saturday, April 5th in a 1pm match.
