Gophers Beat Eagles to Remain Undefeated in Conference Play

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Goucher College Men's Tennis team (10-5 Overall; 5-0 Conference) traveled to compete in Landmark Conference matchup against the Juniata College Eagles (2-4 Overall; 1-3 Conference). The Gophers won 6-1 to remain undefeated in Conference play.
- The Gophers sweep doubles play to earn the point.
- In the No. 1 doubles, Benedikt Rummel and Gabe Naftoly held their opponents to just two games in the 6-2 win.
- Tadeo Asprella and George King did not let up a game in the 6-0 win in the No. 2 doubles.
- In the No. 3 match, Jackson Beam and Guilherme Moraes battled to secure the 7-5 win.
- Naftoly dropped the No. 1 singles, but fought through three sets. He secured the first set, but lost the next two (6-1, 4-6, 5-7).
- Asprella fought through an extended second set, winning 6-1, 7-5 in the No. 2 singles.
- In the No. 3 singles, Rummel only allowed one game winning 6-0, 6-1.
- Calis Nguyen finished the No. 4 singles 7-5, 6-2.
- Moraes finished straight sets both 6-3 to win the point in the No. 5 singles.
- In the No. 6 singles, King rounded out the points for the Gophers with a 6-0, 6-3 win.
- The Gophers travel to face Catholic on Tuesday, April 8th in a Landmark Conference matchup set to begin at 4pm.
