WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Goucher College Gophers 11-5 Overall; 6-0 Conference) traveled to face the Catholic University Cardinals (12-3 Overall; 4-1 Conference) battling back after dropping doubles to hand the Cardinals their first Landmark Conference loss.
- Despite the win in the No. 3 doubles by Jackson Beam and Guilherme Moraes (6-1) the Gophers lost the doubles point.
- The No. 1 and No. 2 matches battled to a tie breaker.
- Gabe Naftoly swept his opponent in the No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
- In the No. 2 singles, Tadeo Asprella secured the point for the Gophers (6-3. 6-2).
- Benedikt Rummel fought through his second tiebreaker of the competition, eventually falling to his opponent 6-7(5-7), 6-3, 3-6.
- The No. 4 singles match, Calis Nguyen won in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
- Moraes rallied back after dropping the first set to win 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 5 match.
- George King rounded out the singles victories for the Gophers, to secure the win in a three-set match. (6-3, 2-6, 6-3).
- The Gophers host Scranton and Johns Hopkins in a double-header on Sunday, April 13th set to start at 1pm and 4pm.
