Gophers Remain Undefeated in Conference Play on Senior Day

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College Gophers (13-6 Overall; 8-0 Conference) remain undefeated in Landmark play after a 6-1 victory over the Susquehanna University River Hawks (7-3 Overall; 2-3 Conference) on Senior Day.

In the No. 1 match, Gabe Naftoly and Benedikt Rummel won 6-2.
George King and Tadeo Asprella swept their opponents in the No. 2 match, 6-0.
The No. 3 pair, consisting of Guilherme Moraes and Jackson Beam rounded our the doubles play with a 6-3 win.

Naftoly fought through a tiebreaker, but ultimatley fell after winning the first set (6-3, 0-6, 4-10).
In the No. 2 match, Asprella swept his opponent (6-0, 6-0).
Rummel was able to secure the point in the No. 3 match with a win 6-2, 6-1.
Senior Calis Nguyen won in the No. 4 match after allowing just one game in the 6-1, 6-0.
In the No. 5 singles, senior Beam rallied back after dropping the first set tot win in a tiebreaker (2-6, 6-4, 10-3).
The final senior of the men's team, Manny Vidal rounded out the victories in singles in the No. 6 match (6-3, 6-4).

The men host Wilkes on Tuesday, April 22nd at 4pm in their final match prior to conference play.
