Bio
Debbie Holtschneider was named the head coach of Goucher's men's and women's tennis programs on October 30, 2024.
"I am so grateful to Bryan Laut and the search committee for giving me this head coaching opportunity. As a lifelong resident of Baltimore County I have visited the campus many times and know that Goucher College is a special place. I can't wait to meet the rest of the players and get to work," said Holtschneider, who is currently the head men's and women's tennis coach at Harford Community College. "I appreciate all the efforts Chuck Willenborg has given both teams this fall as the interim head coach, and look forward to working with him in the future. I am going to work very hard to uphold the strong reputation Goucher has earned in the Landmark Conference. "
Holtschneider has been at Harford Community College since 2021 and was elevated to head coach of the Owls' women's tennis program in August 2021 before adding the reins to the men's program ahead of the 2022-23 season. Prior to that, Holtschneider was an assistant coach for the Towson University women's program. She is also currently the head tennis pro at Pine Valley Swim & Tennis Club.
A native of Baltimore, Holtschneider began her collegiate tennis career at CCBC-Dundalk where she won a regional championship and went on to be inducted into the CCBC Hall of Fame. She then went on to Lander University, a Division II institution in Greenwood, South Carolina. Holtschneider has been ranked in the Top 10 in Maryland in Women's Open Singles.
Holtschneider earned her bachelor's in Health and Physical Education from Lander and went on to earn a bachelor's in Elementary Education from Towson.
