SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Will Evans III (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) registered the second-fastest time in the 200-meter dash in the history of Goucher's men's indoor track and field program while competing tonight at the Susquehanna Open.
The senior crossed the finish line in 23.49 seconds, good for ninth place, although only three of the runners who finished ahead of him were from Division III institutions. First place went to Devin Barr from Bloomsburg, who completed the event in 22.51 seconds.
The only faster time by a Goucher male runner in the 200 indoors is the all-time record of 23.25 seconds that Evans turned in at the 2010 Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Evans also placed 11th overall — and fourth among Division III entrants — in a field of 46 runners in the 60-meter dash. He was clocked at 7.30 seconds.
