Taylor Breaks 14-Year-Old 110-Meter Hurdles Record

FROSTBURG, Md. — Miles Taylor (Bowie, Md./Wakefield) broke a 14-year program record and posted Goucher's highest finish, second place, in the Bobcat Invitational today.
- With a clocked time of :16.59 in the 110-meter high hurdles, Taylor set a new record, topping Greg Rabus' time of :16.69 which was established in that same event on March 3, 2002.
- Coming off a strong Goucher Classis performance a week ago, Elton Kativhu (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. Ignatius College) added to it with a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (:11.47).
- Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) finished in sixth place with a time of 4:26.58 in the 1500 meters.
- The 4 x 100-meter relay entry of Taylor, Eli Schwartz (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley), John Gyimesi (Malvern, Pa./Montana Academy) and Kativhu placed fourth with a clocked time of :47.20, while the 4 x 400 relay team finished in fifth place (3:43.40).
- There was no team scoring.
Goucher travels to Grantham, Pa. on Saturday as the team competes in the Messiah Invitational.
