Gophers Continue to Build Off Strong Start to Outdoor Season

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The Goucher College men's track & field team participated in the Battleground Relays on Saturday afternoon in Fredericksburg, VA.
Freshman Ogemdi Chukwu (Paris, France) won the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.65 seconds. He has won the event in back-to-back weekends. During the 16th Annual Goucher Track & Field Classic, the sprinter from Paris set the school record with a time of 15.55 seconds.
Goucher Top Performers:
- Sophomore Ryan Floyd (Bel Air, MD) placed second in the long jump. His distance of 6.52m ties his personal best. He set the mark last weekend at the Goucher Track & Field Classic.
- He also went on to take seventh in the 100m dash on the men's side with a time of 11.53 seconds. He was only .01 seconds off his personal best.
- Freshman Darby Bauer (Perkiomenville, PA) placed 17th overall in the discus throw with a distance of 29.46m.
- Assistant coach Tim Hartung participated in the UKROPs 10k race held in Richmond, VA on Saturday, posting a time of 31:41. His mile pace was 5:06/mile.
